Coach Omar is currently the Head Coach at St. Benedict's Prep, NJ Schoolboy Team Coach, Head of UsawNJ Cultural Exchange, and is the director for the Road 2 Redemption International Camp.
He was a National Prep runner-up as a senior in 1997, an age-group AAU National Champion and saw first hand how wrestling during the middle school years provided him with a foundation of skills that helped to make his transition to high school significantly more manageable. He now finds himself in a position to help others build a similar foundation prior to taking on all the challenges of a demanding college preparatory educational experience.
Omar was also a two-sport standout at St. Benedict’s, having competed for the legendary soccer coach Rick Jacobs, while wrestling under the tutelage of Mark Gerbino, Mike DiPiano, Sr. and the late great, Roman Ruderman.
He credits his former coaches with much of his own current success as a teacher and coach. He has helped to produce a bevy of age-group state and national champions through other wrestling clubs.
Coach Omar actively seeks out the best training methodologies across the world for our students and uses his unique world experiences to foster the precise development for our wrestlers on all levels.
